Well that was a high ol’ time! I just finished the last show of the 2025 touring season. For 6 months I ran, fell, and stood up again with maniacal resolve, over the lost highways of the American West, bringing banjo clamor and family values to the underserved. Most of my perennial venues were visited, as well as some new ones, and rarely visited ones.
Almost every show was a joy. A few sucked, but that keeps us humble. Most were well-attended by enthusiastic audiences who sang along, whooped and hollered. Thanks to the excellent engineers I am privileged to work with, the sound was nearly uniformly, inspiringly great. The rye whiskey was top shelf too, owing to Katy’s ownership of a cocktail bar and access to wholesale rates. And with so much good juju swingin’ my way, I’ll be the first to tell ya’ that I performed with a style and grace the likes of which I am proud to recall. What a fabulous season!
Heartfelt appreciation goes out to all of the presenters who thought it was a good idea to employ me. You were a pleasure to work with. And to each and every one of you who attended the shows, I am grateful. Ain’t none of it nothin’ without you.
Winter tolerably, my friends,
Jalan’
