According to Jalan, “I've always been a sci-fi enthusiast, as well as one o' them tinfoil hat wearin', doomer, prepper types. They say, ‘write about what ya' know’ and I'm a self-proclaimed expert on all things zombie and alien.” Each song has its unique merits. A couple are most meaningful to Jalan: ‘All Good People’ and ‘Parlor Trick’ because they both deal with the fundamental human dilemma of impermanence, a topic Jalan was exploring on this record as well as in life in general. These two tracks, along with ‘Hammer & Nails’ and track 4, the one that drops the F-bomb, are his personal favorites “just because I think the songwriting is strong and the music captured it.”
